Tour of Moroni: The Riches of Renaissance Portraiture
After-hours tour of Moroni: The Riches of Renaissance Portraiture at The Frick Collection, led by Associate Curator, Dr. Aimee Ng.
On March 11, V&AAF members enjoyed an after-hours tour of Moroni: The Riches of Renaissance Portraiture at The Frick Collection, led by Associate Curator, Dr. Aimee Ng.
Giovanni Battista Moroni was an essential figure in the northern Italian tradition of naturalistic painting that includes Leonardo da Vinci, the Carracci, and Caravaggio. Dr. Ng gave the group an informative tour of an impressive selection of portraits, as well as various complementary objects from the same time period which recalled the material world of the artist and the sitters and tied in to some of the portraits.
Moroni: The Riches of Renaissance Portraiture ran at The Frick Collection, New York, from February 21 to June 2, 2019.
