Visit to Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty at the V&A

In June 2015 a group from the V&AAF visited the Museum for an early morning private view of Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty with an introduction by Fashion Curator, Sonnet Stanfill.

V&A South Kensington Cromwell Road,
London, SW7 2RL

June 17, 2015, 8:30 am

This is a past event.

This headline exhibition was the first and largest retrospective of the late designer’s work to be presented in Europe and showcased over 100 pieces of McQueen’s visionary work.

Spanning his 1992 MA graduate collection to his unfinished A/W 2010 collection, McQueen’s designs were presented with the dramatic staging and sense of spectacle synonymous with his runway shows.

In addition to the works exhibited in the original version of Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2011, the group enjoyed seeing a considerable number of new works added to the show including several pieces focusing on McQueen’s early London collections.

The exhibition ran until August 2015.
