Autofocus: The Car in Photography hosted by Dr Marta Weiss, Senior Curator, Photography, V&A
Marta Weiss, Senior Curator, Photography at the V&A, gave an interesting and illuminating talk on her book Autofocus: The Car in Photography.
On March 2, Marta Weiss, Senior Curator, Photography at the V&A, gave an interesting and illuminating talk on her book Autofocus: The Car in Photography at the Society of the Four Arts, Palm Beach, Florida.
Marta’s book delves into the V&A’s vast and diversified photography collection to explore the many intersections between car and camera. At the lecture, Marta presented photographs that ranged from the celebratory to the surreal, by renowned masters and anonymous amateurs, drawing parallels along the way between two inventions of the nineteenth century – photography and the automobile that continue to have a tremendous impact on our lives.
